Disney Un-Disneyed: Basil and Sherlock

I admit this one is kind of a stretch.  I was surprised to find, when it came to researching The Great Mouse Detective in my Disney source material read-through, that Basial of Baker Street is a character based on Sherlock Holmes, yes, but that the film is also based on a series of books inspired by the famous detective.  I managed to get my hands on the first couple of books, which had very little to do with the plot of the movie, but which were enjoyable anyway (reviews here and here).  My initial thought was just to draw Holmes, since he's the inspiration for the character in the first place, but then The Wife reminded me that the movie character is actually based on the literary Basil, and not Sherlock, which didn't really go with the theme of this series, which has so far just been to draw the human characters, but anyway, blah blah blah, so I decided to just draw a li'l Basil down below, looking admiringly up at his human hero, the inspiration for his work and the character, so it works.  Also, it's always fun to draw a traditional Holmes.
