Figure Study Sketches (Female) by kuabci Figure Study Sketches (Female) by kuabci
Pen
January 2011

Like I said in my previously posted male figure sketches, it's good to go back to some human studies now and then, and really, I should probably do these a lot more often than I do. These weren't drawn with any photo or model reference, just some conceptual figure studies. I tried to think of interesting poses and sort of tell stories with them. I like how a lot of these turned out.

Male study here: [link] There seem to be a lot less figures of ladies than I did of males, but in fact I think there are more. Interesting.

(It occurs to me that maybe I should put some kind of content warning on these?... But surely that wouldn't be necessary, as they contain very little specific detail and are basically covered.)

Awesome. Dynamic is a great thing when it comes to figure/gesture drawings. :)

again nice work!! I like the sort of angular look you gave this, its something I don't see very often done to female studies.

It's true, most of the time the female figure is done more with curves, isn't it? I like to try to do a contrast of soft and hard, sharp and curved when I do these sorts of things.

Well i think it works more when doing studies, it differentiates the different forms more.

Yeah, and adds contrast too, which makes them more interesting and appealing.

also adds to the over all gesture of the drawing.
