So I guess I started this account about three years ago so I could leave comments on some of my favorite artists' work, but never really posted any of my own work. Only recently I decided I might as well put some up. I'm not sure how often or how much I'll post, but I'll give it a go. It's a start at least!

More of my artwork can be found at asg.animatedheroes.com , and my wife and I have a joint art blog at penandpencilarts.blogspot.com . As it happens, she also has a dA account: limlight.deviantart.com/

See you around! Later, peeps.

Now that I've finished my 30 Day Challenge, I wanted to post a li'l journal entry because I realized not long ago that at some point I passed 10,000 page views!  Woot!  Thanks, everyone!  Not too shabby for just over six months of activity, ha ha.

Anyway, thanks again!  And stay tuned!  I have so many ideas for arts right now that I feel like I might explode from not having enough free hours in the day.  I should make a list or something so I don't forget them all.

Until next tiiiiime.

Hey, I love your artwork! I'm attending BYU-Idaho right now, but I think I might like to transfer to Provo, and enter their animation program too! Anyway, I really like how all of your character sketches look, and I was wondering, do you use a blue pencil? Also, I have been practicing with digital coloring. would you mind if I color some of your drawings (just for practice)? I'll give you credit of course!

Thanks so much!  To answer your question, in the past, mostly during school, I used a blue or red pencil a lot (you can see it in some of my older drawings), but most of the blue line work in the art posted on here is in pen.  It was something they tried to instill us in figure drawing classes, drawing with pen in our sketchbook, so we can learn to better commit to our lines and adapt to mistakes and plan composition more carefully, since there's no erasing!  And then it just stuck, and it's what I prefer to draw with now.  Occasionally I draw with pencil or right on the computer, but I draw pretty exclusively with that blue pen in my sketchbooks.

Good luck getting into BYU's program!  I was in it when it was pretty new, but they do some pretty great things these days too.  And of course you may use some of my line art for digital painting practice!  Credit would be great, and I would love to see what you come up with as your practice goes on.

Thanks again!

Thank you!  I've basically been drawing my entire life, so I guess that's where I would say I studied. :)  I took art classes throughout school and studied animation at BYU in Provo, UT, so that's a little more about where I actually went to school.  Thanks again!
