I think this is a very nice figure study. The pose is interesting and there's a nice amount of tension in the muscles and skeletal stru...

First of all, I know it can be really difficult to be creative and even motivated during an art block, so well done for doing something...

This is a nice, if fairly simple figure study. The decision to make it two-tone is an interesting one, and it adds depth and a good amo...

I like this piece and the rendering is nice, but I'm a little confused... Why is Elinor (of the purple hair?) eating a fish? Perhaps a ...

Illusionals by kuabci
I recently finished reading the second book written by one of my old college friends (review here), and I thought it was a rollicking ride from start to finish!  Plenty of danger and drama and humor and just enough steampunk to be interesting and effective without being annoying and trendy.  Last week these Sunday Sketches resulted.  All the characters in her books are so vividly described and written that I find they flow pretty easily from my pen, even if they don't always come out just how I pictured them -- but that's on me, not on the author.  You can see the other Sunday Sketches that her writing has inspired in the past here.

This can also be seen on our art blog here.

Sometimes it's Friday and I need to draw something to make me feel creative, so The Wife suggested these two, who are always a good subject.

First Day of Work 2015 (Take 2)
September 2015

The self-portrait I posted yesterday was kind of hurried and didn't quite turn out how I had originally pictured it, so here's take 2.  It has more of that posed/dead-eyed/Glamour Shots By Deb look I was going for.

First Day of Work 2015
September 2015

I recently procured new employment, and certainly informed them of the equipment I would definitely require.  When it finally arrived it was time to test it out, so here's the first quick piece done on my new work tablet. I needed a super professional avatar for my office email signature after all.

So I guess I started this account about three years ago so I could leave comments on some of my favorite artists' work, but never really posted any of my own work. Only recently I decided I might as well put some up. I'm not sure how often or how much I'll post, but I'll give it a go. It's a start at least!

More of my artwork can be found at , and my wife and I have a joint art blog at . As it happens, she also has a dA account:

Hello to you all.

In case you haven't noticed, most of the art I have posted for the last several weeks has been Harry Potter sketches.  I spent most of July re-reading the books, so I decided to finally clean up and re-scan some of my old HP arts (some older than others, rather like the books themselves) and post them somewhere a little more up-to-date than my old online gallery.  Well, this project took a little longer than expected, but it's over new (whew) and that's more or less it for the back-posted HP arts.  I'm glad to have seen them so well-received, and thanks to everyone for the comments and et cetera.  It's nice that my dA account now reflects more accurately my sketch history, since Harry and Co. have definitely been a huge part of my drawing repertoire for some years, even if this gallery until now hadn't really reflected that.  Goodbye for now, Boy Who Lived!  We love you so.

... And now we return to our regularly scheduled programming.
